Open Analytics Mobile App

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 7 March 2026. This Privacy Policy explains how Data Sailors Private Limited collects, uses, stores, shares, retains, and deletes information when authorised users access the Open Analytics mobile application, the supporting web dashboard, and related IoT monitoring services. This page is intended for public disclosure, including Google Play listing compliance for Open Analytics.

1. Scope

This policy applies to the Open Analytics mobile application, Data Sailors support portals, and the cloud services used to deliver telemetry, alerts, and user authentication for customer deployments.

2. Developer and contact information

Open Analytics is provided by Data Sailors Private Limited. Privacy questions, support issues, and deletion requests may be sent to ops@datasailors.io or by using the public support and deletion pages linked below.

3. Intended users

The app is intended for authorised operators, engineers, administrators, and viewers working with customer energy, utility, and facility monitoring systems. It is not a consumer social, advertising, or payments app.

4. Information we collect

  • Account details such as name, email address, role, organisation, and phone number when provided by the customer administrator.
  • Authentication and session data required to sign in securely using Firebase Authentication and backend access tokens.
  • Device-related data needed for app operations, such as push notification tokens, app version, platform type, and locally stored preferences.
  • Operational data displayed through the app, including telemetry, alerts, device status, historical trends, and customer-assigned client metadata.
  • Support and diagnostic information shared when you contact us or when logs are needed to investigate platform issues.

5. Information we do not intentionally collect

  • We do not sell personal information.
  • We do not use the app for advertising profiles or third-party ad targeting.
  • We do not intentionally collect precise location, contacts, SMS, or payment information.
  • We do not record audio content for product analytics or marketing purposes.

6. How we use information

  • Authenticate authorised users and enforce role-based access control.
  • Deliver live dashboards, telemetry views, alerts, and device control actions permitted by customer policy.
  • Register devices for push notifications and user-configurable alert subscriptions.
  • Maintain security, service reliability, auditability, and troubleshooting.
  • Improve product performance, user experience, and deployment support.

7. How information is shared

  • With Google Firebase for authentication and related platform services.
  • With Data Sailors backend services, cloud infrastructure, and customer-specific systems needed to serve telemetry, app access, and alerts.
  • With notification delivery services and platform providers when push alerts are enabled.
  • When required by law, contract, or to protect users, customers, or platform security.

8. Storage and retention

We retain account and operational data for as long as needed to provide contracted services, satisfy customer retention requirements, maintain security records, and comply with applicable law. Local app storage is used for session state and preferences until the user signs out, clears app data, or the app removes outdated records. If we must retain limited records after a deletion request for security, fraud prevention, incident response, billing, legal, or regulatory reasons, we explain that at the time of request handling.

9. Security

We use HTTPS/TLS, authenticated APIs, role-based permissions, access tokens, and managed cloud services to protect customer data. No system can guarantee absolute security, but we apply commercially reasonable safeguards appropriate for industrial monitoring and SaaS operations.

10. Your choices and deletion

  • You may request account updates through your organisation administrator or Data Sailors support.
  • You may request account deletion, personal data deletion, or both by following the process on our data deletion page.
  • You may disable notifications at the operating system or in-app settings level, subject to customer policy.
  • Deletion requests are handled in line with customer contracts, legal obligations, and security recordkeeping requirements.

11. Consistency with Google Play disclosures

The Google Play Data safety form, this Privacy Policy, and any required in-app disclosures should describe the same data handling practices. Store listing declarations must be kept accurate if app features, SDKs, permissions, or data flows change.

12. Children

Our products are designed for business and institutional use and are not directed to children.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect product, legal, operational, or platform policy changes. The updated version will be published at this public URL with a revised effective date.
